Web Services allow Dynamics SL to be updated via Web Pages or 3rd party applications. Renown empOwer provides Web Services for Dynamics SL Entities (Project, Customer, Voucher, Timecard). The Web Service describes the tables and fields to be updated in SL and the business logic that controls data validation and rules for SL updates. Using Web Services enables queries to be both read and write enabled based on user access rights.

All empOwer queries produce editable data grids in a Web user Interface. The data can be viewed and edited dynamically in the grid itself. User access rights can control which users can see or update queries or specific fields in a query. This is a powerful feature that can enable users to quickly generate a list of data and run down that list updating key fields such as Due Dates, Statuses, and Assignments etc.

A Web Form is a page that allows data entry via a Web Page. It replicates the functionality of a Dynamics SL screen but in a web user interface. empOwer allows any number of customisable Web Forms to be created for each SL Entity (Eg Project). User access rights can control which Web Forms a user has access to, limiting the screen fields a user can see or update.

empOwer provides user access control to Entities (Web Services), Views (Queries) and Web Forms (Screens). This lets you control exactly what data, screens and fields users or groups can create, update, read or delete. This extends the Dynamics SL security beyond simple screen access, down to a field and data level access in a web environment.

Query tools provide facilities to easily define sort orders, record grouping and filters. Commonly these settings can be saved into templates for reuse by individuals or groups. empOwer allows you to enter any Filter, Sort or Group criteria and save this as a View. Users can then be granted access to these views.

Data Grids (Queries) can be exported in many formats including Excel, XML, Text and RTF. Users can create predefined views designed specifically for exporting selected fields and data.
