Renown's Period Locking module provides much greater flexibility and control over individual user access and locking by module or screen. It performs the lock on the release function allowing batches to be entered in locked periods, but prevented from being released and posted. This ensures documents are not lost, left in drawers awaiting a period to be unlocked. It avoids the need to unlock periods in future periods awaiting a Period Close / Roll, extra features, more flexible and tighter control.

Re-Open/Lock Periods |

Batches can be entered into locked periods, but cannot be released. This avoids future period vouchers being left in drawer awaiting the roll into the respective period.

It is possible to re-open and re-lock any period for individual modules. The Period Maintenance screen provides a separate lock checkbox for each Module and Year/Month combination.

A Period Maintenance screen shows Months and Modules in a grid. Apply or Clear the checkbox lock for the applicable fiscal period and required Module.

User Access Rights have been customised to allow users or groups to by-pass locks on individual screens allowing the Financial Controller to do adjustments to locked periods.

The Dynamics SL - Period Close function is customised to allow the current period to be locked and future period to be unlocked in the close process saving manual adjustments.

To prevent cash manager reconciliation issues it is possible to enforce the entered and document dates to match the defined period to post. A date outside the defined period can be entered.
